They Say Bonjour

The beautiful Alexandra of They Say Bonjour has kindly answered some of our questions - debating Elle vs Vogue, talking about her favorite fashion models and her love for denim shorts.

1. Introduce yourself...
Hello! Im Alexandra of 'They Say Bonjour' fashion blog. I'm 21 years old, from Liverpool UK. Currently in my final university year studing Media and Cultural Studies. I love writing my fashion blog both my personal one alexalamode.tumblr.com and one I contribute to fashaddict.blog.co.uk and I love reading others. I get a lot of inspiration from fashion blogs and I'm constantly finding new favourite ones.

2. How would you describe your style?
My style isn't definitive, it changes a lot. What I'd say is simple, little bit edgy (or scruffy!). I take notice of what is on trend, but its not something that completely determines my outfits. I like to mix it up. I take it day by day, the weather, what I'm doing that day and what mood I'm in. All goes into consideration!

3. What are your 3 most worn items in your wardrobe?
Denim shorts, black & white polka dot dress, beige vintage cardigan.

4. Do you prefer Elle or Vogue? Why?
Oh that is hard! I really love them both. However.... I think i'm going to go with Elle. I've been reading it for a lot longer than Vogue, and I find that I can relate a lot more to the articles. Elle is intelligent and accessible with its fashion inspiration. I mean there is always items I see and want to cry as I love them and I know I'll probably never be able to afford them, but I just generally enjoy looking at clothes, shoes, accessories, bags.....and we always want things more when we know we can't have them!

5. What do you think of the British high street fashion stores?
British high street fashion stores are awesome, and they have a lot to offer. I shop a lot in H&M, Topshop, Urban Outfitters. Its exciting at the moment as all the new collections and trends are coming in for spring/summer and there is some amazing stuff.

6. List the things currently in your handbag.
Diary, Purse, Cocoa Butter Vaseline, Maybelline 420 Coral Pop lipstick, University text books, iPod.

7. What are your favorite fashion films?
I love The September Issue, Grace Coddington is one of my ultimate idols. The Devil Wears Prada. The Virgin Suicides. Zooey Deschanel in 500 Days of Summer. I watch a lot of French film as well, so I get a lot of that inspiration, french fashion is beautiful. Marion Cotillard is my favourite French actress so I love anything that she is in.

8. Tell us a bit about the 30 day challenge you did, and what you learnt from it...
I still haven't completed this! haha. but basically I answered questions like what are my style tips, do I have any style icons, favourite beauty products etc. I think it has made me stop and think a bit more about the decisions I make, and why I make them. I guess it just made me more aware of my self and my style.

9. Who is your favorite fashion model from last season?
I've always loved Freja Beha Erichsen, her whole look, attitude and vibe is so refreshing. But I've been really impressed with Cara Delevingne she's cropping up everywhere now!

10. If you had to start your wardrobe from scratch, what 5 things would you go out and buy instantly?
Opaque tights, a white shirt, a cardigan, killer black heels and levi's 501 denim shorts
