Slanelle Style

This French blogger Slanelle Style has great taste, and an unusual yet beautiful way of putting clothes together. She has very wonderfully answered some fashion questions for us:

1. What is the one essential item in your wardrobe you couldn't live without?
I think ... black large shirts worn as dresses. It's my basic outfit when I don't know what to wear, so I'd be lost without that !

2. If you could give one piece of style advice, what would it be?
I'd simply say : Wear whatever you feel like wearing !! Who cares if it's not in the fashion at that time, or if other people don't like it, as long as you feel confortable and confident in it.

3. Who is your fashion icon?
I used to worship Mary Kate's style, but it's pretty boring at the moment. Now, I feel inspired by everything and everyone, really. Everyone has his moments of fashion genius :)

4. How have you developed your style?
It sure took me a long time to finally recognize what looks good on me, and what will never fit me ! But my style constantly evolves, and what I like today, I'll probably hate tomorrow ! I guess I let myself be influenced by everything, like magazines, fashion show, other bloggers, or art in general ! Posting my outfits on my blog also helps me, because i can really see them from a distance.

5. What is your favorite outfit that you've worn, and why?
One of my favorite is probably this one, I took this random vintage nightgown (which i had stolen to my grandma) and turn it into this dress that I love. I guess i was just really proud of that idea!

6. Favorite movie costume?
The Virgin Suicides !! It's my constant source of inspiration !

7. What beauty products can't you live without?
Awww Make up !! If someone would steal my black eyeshadow, I'd kill him with my own hands!! LOL!

8. What do you wear on vacation/holiday?
I'm probably a bit lazier, as everyone does, especially if i'm away from home and cannot bring my whole closet with me. I wear denim shorts with large shirts most of the time, or light dresses. In summer, I just wanna feel confortable. I wear my flip flops all the time !

9. Favorite pair of shoes/boots?
Definitely my black New Look boots, I wear them all the time.

10. Do you prefer designer, vintage or highstreet?
I'm definitely not designer! I hate to think that people spend fortune for their clothes, when what they actually pay for is the brand ! I like vintage, but mostly on others, it doesn't really look good on me. I guess I'm just an H&M kind of girl :) I also like to customize my clothes as much as I can !
