Let Me Feel Like A Doll
Laia of pretty blog Let Me Feel Like A Doll was kind
enough to answer our questions. We find out why this girl from Barcelona loves London and what her favorite
beauty products are.
1. How would you describe your style?
My style is a pure reflection of my personality and my moods. I'm a very feminine girl so I mostly wear dresses and
skirts. I love history, from the Baroque era to the present, but my favorite decades are the 50s and 60s and I love
the chic French vibe so I think that's what my style is mostly about.
2. What most inspires you?
I must admit that I take a lot of inspiration from other people's blogs but I think that now it has become more
about what I like. I usually think where I'd like to go and I dress according to the occasion I've made up in my
mind, so for example if I feel like going for a walk in the forest like if I was a fairy I put on a lace dress, a
flower crown, pink shoes and a straw bag.
3. What 3 items in your wardrobe do you wear the most?
Recently it's been my three strap brown flats, my black ballerinas from H&M and my vintage straw hat.
4. What are your favorite movies?
Marie Antoinette, The Dreamers and A Clockwork Orange.
5. Your ultimate beauty must-haves?
A good quality liquid eyeliner, efficient concealer and foundation and orange lipstick.
6. You've done lots of travelling, where is your favorite place you've been and why?
My absolute favorite has always been London but I've been to so many different places that I really can't choose
only one. I like all of them for different reasons but if I had to say which I my favorites are I'd sound quite
typical by chosing London because it's like perfection, Paris because there isn't any place more glamorous in the
whole world and New York because of its amazing diversity.
7. How often do you shop, where do you go, and who with?
I shop much more often that I really should. I normally go to Topshop, H&M, Zara and my favorite vintage shops
and I normally go with my friends, my mother or alone.
8. What is your favorite food?
I love cheeseburgers with bacon and fried egg. And of desserts my favorites are coulant and macarons, both of them
are French! haha
9. Who are your favorite fashion
designers?
There are the ones that are an inspiration to me and I really admire as a fashion student that I am such as Karl
Lagerfeld, John Galiano, Alexander McQueen and Vivienne Westwood. There are others such as Luella, Sonia Rykiel,
Charles Anastase, Moschino, Orla Kiely and brands like Stretsis or TBA that I love but more because they are more
the kind of things I'd wear and/or design myself.
10. Can you tell us 3 style secrets? (Or things that you wish you'd known when you were
younger...)
I wish I had realised before that wearing things because they're cool is not the right thing, you have to find what
you like and wear it without minding what other people will say and think, and not be so lazy to wear what and how
everybody else does. I wish I had been smart enough not to buy such a popular pair of sunglasses (I got the
white Rayban wayfarers 2 years ago) that are now so old-fashioned, that's what happens if you buy the musts of a
season, you can't wear them anymore if you don't wait at least 15 years lol. And finally, I wish I had started
buying things I truly liked a long time before, I have wasted so much money on things I've never
worn!
