How to apply perfect special occasion makeup?
Special Occasion Makeup
Tutorial
Looking flawless for your special occasion, whether its a wedding, prom or party,
is a really important part of getting ready. Any woman's outfit would not be complete without a well made up face,
but it is so easy to fall into a makeup rut, that sometimes you will need a lot of helping out and
inspiration.
Getting a flawless complexion is as much about great nutrition and fabulous skin
care, as how you apply foundation and concealer. So drink 6-8 glasses of water each day, and eat your five portions
of fruit & veg.
Occasion Eye
Makeup
Eye makeup for a special occasion should be a lot bolder than your regular everyday
eye makeup. That way you can make a statement, just by the amount of eye shadow you wear, it doesn't even have to
be about the color you use. Go to a Body Shop or Mac counter for some advice and test of different products and
colors.
How to Apply False
Eyelashes
Fake eyelashes are not always obvious. Individual lashes, when applied correctly
look invisible whilst giving the lashes extra volume and visibly opening up the eye.Firstly, you'll need your glue
and your lashes. A local Sally's will have these, and short black or brown is probably the best type to choose for
a natural look. Lay a clump of lashes on top of your own, and glue it to your lashline. Wait for it to dry and
cover them with mascara.
Luscious Lips
Find a lip plumping gloss with peppermint extract for a real boost. And don't
forget to choose a delicious lipstick shade that will compliment your skin tones, try out reds and pinks to work
out which best suits you, one shade will pop and the other will be a subtle blend. The latter will be more
complimentary, and is the appropriate shade for you!
Oh, and don't forget the perfect special occasion hairstyle!

Your Questions Answered:
♥ What kind of makeup should I wear with a red dress?
The smoky eye look is perfect to wear with red, or a simple neutral colour with a bit of shimmer. Start by
creating a flawless base by applying a good foundation, hint of bronzer and concealer where necessary. Add a primer
to your lids and work in a light brown shade up to your eyebrow, a slighter darker taupe on your lid and a dark
brown/grey next to your lash line (in the V). Add a slightly reddish lipstick to your lips (or neutral lip gloss if
your eye makeup looks quite dark), and a dab of blusher on the apples of your cheeks. The other alternative is to
pop on some good fake eye lashes and lots of eye liner to create a retro look. Whatever you do, do not
choose a pink or red eye shadow color, as this has a tendency to make people look quite ill!
♥ How do I make my make-up last longer? A primer should help make any makeup last
longer, as well as provide a nice base. Try out the Bare Minerals steps to create a flawless look that lasts all
day. Generally cheap makeup doesn't last very long at all, so splash out on basic items. If in doubt about a
particular brand, ask the store beauty assistants for a makeover in the morning, and see if it stays put
throughout the day!
