How should I look after my
skin?
How to
create your own skincare routine?
It can be totally daunting deciding on what products to
choose to look after your skin. There are so many different
ranges to choose from, and everyone's face is different. There
are a few simple steps that every woman can follow in order to
maintain natural, healthy-looking skin.
Firstly, if you really don't have a clue, research! Check
out the thousands of skincare videos on Youtube. There's one
posted at the bottom of this page, for a little inspiration and
helpful advice.
But, to start you off here are the basics of skin
care:
Cleanse- The absolute essential part of any persons
routine is to cleanse the face. Its important to use a
consistency thats right for your skin, this may be anything
from a foaming wash to a cleansing milk or cream. A great way
to make sure that your skin is thoroughly clean is to use a
muslin cloth and some hot water to remove any excess dirt.
Tone- This is a step missed out by a large
percentage of women, but you may be surprised at how much dirt
is still left on your skin after cleansing. Get some pure rose
or lavender water, saturate a cotton wool pad and run it all
over your face and neck. This will really get any excess dirt
and oil out of your skin.
Moisturise- This is such an important part of the
routine; many experts will say that the secret to radiant skin
is to never let if feel dry. So to help this process,
moisturise morning and night, and top up with a refreshing
moisturising spray throughout the day. Try using a moisturising
oil, instead of a cream, for really soft skin.
Exfoliate- This is a good thing to do once a week,
as it will encourage your skin to look more healthy. But be
careful to choose an exfoliator with small, soft exfoliating
particles, as you don't want to strip away your skins natural
oils. Always exfoliate after a bath or shower, when your pores
are open.
Treat- Have a facial every month if you are
feeling flush, and pop a mask on once a week. French green clay
mixed with rose water is a quick, cheap and effective way of
removing toxins, and cleansing deep into your skin.
